Fishing Day at Lake Vintter – Rio Pico
- By amadorjose
🎣 World-class fishing in one of the purest lakes in Patagonia
Shared between Argentina and Chile, Lake Vintter (or Palena, as it is known on the Chilean side) is a turquoise giant surrounded by mountains, steppes, and forests, renowned for its exceptional fly fishing and spinning.
Guided excursions depart from the town of Río Pico to this aquatic paradise, which is home to large rainbow, brown, and fontinalis trout in waters as crystal clear as they are challenging.
🐟 Why fish in Lake Vintter?
Trophy trout and varied techniques: Ideal for fly fishing or spinning, the lake allows fishing from the shore or from a boat. Trout can exceed 2-3 kg, with notable specimens requiring technique and patience.
Pristine Patagonian landscape: Snow-capped mountains, open skies, and a complete absence of urbanization. It is common to have an entire section of the lake to yourself, in total silence, with only the sound of water and birds.
Experienced local guides: The excursion includes certified fishing guides with extensive knowledge of the lake, its productive areas, and changing weather conditions.
Equipped boat or shore fishing: Depending on the visitor's skill level and the conditions on the day, you can choose to fish from a boat, belly boat, raft, or at strategic points from the shore.
Outdoor lunch: Includes a box lunch with Patagonian products or a gourmet picnic on the lake shore. Optional: country cooking experience with trout cooked over fire.
