- By amadorjose
🌄 An experiential journey to ancient Patagonia — nature, history, and gaucho lore
Located on a ranch of more than 10,700 hectares designed in the style of the 1940s, the Rancho Patagónico offers a full-day (or longer) experience that combines horseback riding, traditional cuisine, Tehuelche cultural activities, and geological exploration in a pristine and timeless environment.
🐎 What does a day at the Ranch include?
Guided horseback rides through the steppe: Across the three sections of the ranch, gaucho guides lead visitors along trails surrounded by wildlife (guanacos, Patagonian birds) and geological formations, explaining tracks and markings.
Gaucho-style lunch and after-lunch conversation: Home cooking in a barn converted into a barbecue area, regional dishes, and wine; the atmosphere recreates the 1940s and the warmth of home . In addition, you can enjoy a well-stocked wine cellar, themed bar, and fire pits under the starry sky .
Exploration of the geological environment: Located in the ancient Deseado Massif, the site provides insight into Jurassic volcanic structures and their 300 million years of history, with interpretive tours of the ranch and access to the nearby Petrified Forest.
